Islam, the dominant religion throughout Central Asia, was brought to the territory of the Arabs in the seventh century. Since then, Islam has become an integral part of Tajik culture. Hanafi school of Sunni Islam is the official religion in 2009 in Tajikistan, Tajik, which makes the former Soviet Union, the only country where the official religion.
