Mariah Carey And Nick Cannon To Renew Their Wedding Vows

The day after the birth of Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon twins in Los Angeles on Saturday (April 30), the couple had the power of their vows renewed by the Rev. Al Sharpton, while still in the hospital.

The correspondent of the Baptist minister, activist and radio and television said, while renewing their wedding vows, he was also "very excited" at the request of the couple to bless their newborn boy and girl .

"I was very touched by Mariah and Nick's commitment to want their children to swim in their first 24 hours of their lives and continue their annual tradition to renew their wedding vows," said Sharpton. "At a time when entertainment figures are so caught up in their success, their commitment to their spiritual life and want their twins born in this beautiful environment is exemplary and worthy of admiration."

April 30 marks not only the birth of twins Carey and Cannon, but fortunately, their third wedding anniversary.

"Children are simply a gift from God. I'm very proud of Nick and Mariah," Rev. Al confirmed.

Before birth, Cannon joked that he and Carey could be forced to renew their vows in the hospital and it turned out he was right. "Yeah, we just had a wedding at the hospital," Cannon tweeted on Sunday. "Thanks to @ THEREVAL who came all the way to the hospital to renew the promise of me and my wife and pray with our children.
